HOW DOES THE MACHINE WORK?

VelaShape uses various techniques, the only non-invasive body shaping treatment to combine four different technologies, Bi-Polar Radio-Frequency (RF) and Infra-Red (IR) light energy, and two types of tissue massage – mechanical and vacuum.

The unique mix accelerates the use of stored fat, shrinks existing fat cells, and also increases lymphatic drainage. This is achieved partly by the precisely targeted and controlled heating of dermal and hypodermal tissue (using both IR and RF energy), while simultaneous massages to smooth out the skin in order to optimize their delivery.

GETTING THE VELASHAPE TREATMENT

A schedule of four weekly treatments is usually all that is required.
Maximum benefits are most apparent four weeks after the final session. Many clients see visible results after two sessions, and some measure of firming and tightening is often noticed after one.

Pre-Treatment Advice

You should do certain things to be prepared for the procedure initially. We have listed down a few things that would help you to be ready for your treatment:

• Remember to drink lots of water at least a week before your treatment to get beautiful results.
• Do not eat heavy meals before the session. Always eat a small meal at least 2 to 3 hours before the session.
• If you are on any medications, do not forget to mention it to your consultant.
• Make sure to wax the area, which will be treated at least five days before the treatment. You can opt for shaving too.
• Make sure your skin is dry and not moisturized with any lotion or cream.
• Make sure to wear comfy clothes that are baggy too that can be easily removed and will be comfortable after the treatment.
• Avoid tanning one week before and after the treatment.
• Do not take any medications such as ibuprofen or aspirin if you there is redness or bruise on your skin after treatment; it will gradually go away. Taking blood thinners will make it more severe.
• Please make sure that you are not pregnant or breastfeeding during the Veloshape treatment phase.
• Before your treatment, please make sure to tell your consultant if you have any blood or skin disorder.
• Make sure to exfoliate your skin a day before the treatment to remove the dead skin.

After-Treatment Advice

Follow these guidelines after getting VelaShape treatment:

• After treatment, the sensation of under-skin warmth and a feeling of tightness may last for some hours and is sometimes accompanied by mild redness.
• Benefits last longest if a healthy lifestyle and body weight are maintained, with regular exercise and stretching plus daily moisturization to keep the skin elastic.
• Avoid potential mechanical damage: Don’t kickbox or massage the treated area for at least 48 hours after the procedure. It needs time to break down fat cells and tighten the skin
• Don’t tan the treated area: Avoid tanning lotions and beds. You should use only mild lotions and creams on the area. Also, if you must go out in the sun, use sunscreen. According to studies, products with an SPF rating of at least 30 protect your skin from sun exposure.
• Use cold/cool compress: VelaShape treatments don’t usually come with the discomfort of surgical procedures. However, if you experience any, you can use a compress to relieve the pain. Don’t place ice packs on the treated area.
• Wash the treated area: You can use lukewarm water and regular soap to bathe. However, avoid exfoliants, scrubs or other harsh bathing products.
• Visit the clinic one week after the treatment: Your medical aesthetician will take pictures before and after your VelaShape III treatment. At these follow-up appointments, your medical aesthetician will examine the digital images for changes in the target areas. The results will help decide whether you need more treatment sessions or to stop the procedure altogether.
• Maintain a good amount of fluid intake, we advise 2 litres a day to help the body flush out the toxins and fatty cells.

Combined technology energies precisely target and heat fatty tissues within the treatment area. In addition, the vacuum and tissue manipulation even out the skin to reveal a smoother, tighter figure.

How quickly will I notice a change?

Gradual improvement of the treated area can be seen following the first treatment – with the skin surface of the treated area feeling smoother, firmer, and tighter. Results in cellulite reduction will be most apparent 6 – 8 weeks following the final treatment session.

Is the treatment safe?

The treatment is safe and effective for all skin types and colours.

Does it hurt?

Most patients find the treatment to be comfortable – like a warm deep tissue massage. The VelaShape treatment is designed to accommodate your sensitivity and comfort level. It is normal to experience a warm sensation for a few hours post-treatment. Your skin may also appear red for several hours but it will reside after a few hours.
